It’s been unbearably hot these last few days in the UK. I wanted to go out and paint but also avoid heatstroke! So I had a little siesta instead and waited until the evening. By the time I got there the light was starting to fade so after a few frantic reconnaissance missions around the park on my trusty bike I decided on a nice little spot on the banking of Savick Brook. It was actually quite cool with the shade of the trees, plus the sun was low in the sky. I really enjoyed working fast to capture the warm light of the setting sun through the trees in the distance. This one took me about an hour and a half, including setting up and packing away.
