I went to the Cotswolds for a couple of days to meet some friends. I managed to squeeze in a painting but I had to get up at 6am to fit it into our tightly-packed schedule! I got about an hour into the painting of Burford High Street when a man in a van parked bang in front of me and started to unload a market stall. It perfectly blocked the entire view I was painting. I tried to maintain a zen-like sense of calm and told myself that I usually paint for too long and end up rushing around so this was probably about the right time to pack up and leave anyway. As it happened, it was the right time. I made it back to the hotel just in time for some breakfast before we were back on the road again.
